Technovation Curriculum Workshop!
This workshop prepares teachers, coaches, or anyone interested in being a team's primary mentor to successfully complete the Technovation Challenge 2018.
Topics include:
- What is Technovation?
- Addressing the Intangibles:
- Recruiting
- Scheduling
- Device information
- Working with mentors
- Motivation & workload
- Teaching brainstorming / ideation
- Teaching MIT App Inventor
- Teaching business planning
- Pitching 101
- Preparing for the Showcase and further competition
The class will be taught by two experienced Technovation coaches, Padmaja Bandaru from the Advanced Math & Science Academy Charter School (AMSA) and David Petty of Winchester High.
Schedule:
Saturday, 10/14
8:30am: Coffee & pastry
9am - 12noon: Instruction
12 - 12:30pm: Lunch
12:30 - 4pm: Instruction

FAQs
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
MassRobotics has a parking lot out front, but it's metered every 2 hours (though likely free on Sunday). Nearby parking garage at 12 Drydock Ave (3 minute walk) is $10-15 for the day on weekends.
To get to MassRobotics via public transportation, use the Silver Line from South Station.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
No, printed tickets are not necessary.
Will food and drink be provided?
It is recommended that participants bring a refillable water bottle and any snacks they may like to have with them. A light breakfast will be served upon arrival both days, and lunch will be served midday on the first day only.
